Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) Chennai, India In an innovative move designed to promote regional cooperation, the South Asia Foundation (SAF) has instituted 16 full scholarships for young people from the eight SAARC Countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka), to study at The Asian College of Journalism.
The scholarships are awarded to a young woman and a young man with a passion for journalism. They can choose to study in Print Media or Broadcast Media streams. Read more >

The SAF-Madanjeet Singh scholars are selected by the SAF Chairperson in each country assisted by their respective advisory board.
The scholarship covers the tuition, living and travel expenses of the selected student for the duration of the ACJs ten-month Post Graduate Diploma course.

The ACJ example was emulated by the School of Visual Arts at Beaconhouse National University in Lahore, Pakistan, in 2003. The University is a non-profit initiative and one of Pakistans first private institutions, with schools of visual arts, media and communications; liberal arts, social sciences and information; and communications technology.
The students learn the fundamentals of art, design and theory, comprising creative principles such as colour, composition, space, volume and texture, as well as computer-aided design and technical drawing.
