Scholarships handing over ceremony 17th September 2006 Started in 2005, the funds for the second year of South Asia Foundation Madanjeet Singh Scholarship Program for Vocational Training of Assistant Nurse Midwife was handed over at a grand function held at the Maternity Hospital, Kathmandu on 17th September 2006 by SAF Nepal Chairperson Dr. Rita Thapa.
It will be implemented by the PerNatal Society of Nepal in coordination with the CTEVT (Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training), the Maternity Hospital and the Poverty Alleviation Fund.
A total of 50 students will undergo education and practical skills training. These students will be selected from the poorest districts of the country and will come from humble backgrounds. Read more >

Maiti Nepal
 | At the request of Maiti-Nepal, SAF agreed to launch a programme in which R. Lamichhane, the SAF IT coordinator in Kathmandu, would give computer training to disadvantaged women. This would help them get respectable jobs and thus overcome the cultural taboo that prevented them from being accepted back into society. |
