| Art of Qanaat
My thesis project is comprised of surface designs for the ceremonial qanaats, or tents. My designs have been inspired by the age-old chintz prints of the Indian subcontinent.
The rich history of the traditional qanaat has been nearly lost due to non-patronage in contemporary times. My thesis is an attempt to create fresh design ideas and renew the art of qanaat-making.
