Annual report of SAF Afghanistan for the year 2009

Madanjeet Singh Cultural Heritage Training Institute held its 2nd three month course starting from 5th of May 2009 and continued to the 6th of August 2009. The subjects taught in the 2nd session were: Fundamentals of Archeology, History of Afghanistan, History of Civilization, Making inventory list for the historical relics, Description of the international conventions, History of Art, History of religions and Description of cultural heritage preservation law.
Attached are some photos from the inauguration of the second session of the Training Course in Madanjeet Singh Cultural Heritage Training Institute.

A total number of 18 trainees from different concerned departments of the Ministry of Information & Culture were selected and taught by eight professional trainers.

The 2nd session of this training was postponed due to presidential elections and security reasons, which will be commenced very soon.

SAF Afghanistan made its efforts to announce SAF Madanjeet Singh Scholarship on MA in Pondicherry University for the year 2009. After receiving the applications and CVs, we arranged an evaluation and interview to select two best candidates, that fortunately we found two candidates who were BA. We arranged their visa and travel preparations, and they successfully got enrolled in their classes.

SAF Afghanistan announced two scholarships for Asian College of Journalism for 2009-10 in Chennai, that fortunately we got lots of applications and CVs but no female candidates CV or application was received. We shortlisted, and took interview of some qualified ones and finally through an English Language Evaluation test, we found two best candidates and nominated them and introduced them to ACJ Chennai, that after the paperwork, they could get their visas and flew to India to get their classes

SAF Afghanistan also announced SAF Madanjeet Singh Scholarships for BA in Arts in BNU Lahore, Pakistan. We received many applications and after receiving their portfolios, we took English Language Test, and finally we shortlisted two successful candidates, one male and one female candidate. After receiving their invitation letter from BNU of Lahore, Pakistan, they got their student visas and traveled to Pakistan to join their classes.

In August 1st we got invitation for M.Phil and PHD programs from university of Kashmir, Srinagar, but unfortunately we couldn’t find any candidates yet.
