The National College recently observed the birth anniversary of the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh with a commemorative function at the Madanjeet Hall. The event was graced by the presence of numerous guests, including Chairperson of SAF-Nepal, Dr. Nishchal N. Pandey, who spoke about the contribution of SAF Founder in promoting peace and cooperation across South Asia.
Dr. Pandey also took the opportunity to elaborate on the SAF scholarships that are being offered throughout the South Asian region, highlighting their role in empowering young students to contribute towards regional development. The guests at the function paid their respects to the late Ambassador Singh by garlanding his portrait.
The event also saw a thought-provoking presentation by French researcher Ms. Heloise Le Guellec, who shared her insights on the impact of social media on European politics. Her presentation shed light on the growing influence of social media platforms and how they are reshaping political discourse in Europe.
The function was attended by a large number of students from the college, who were keen to learn more about the life and work of Madanjeet Singh, as well as the initiatives being undertaken by SAF-Nepal to promote regional cooperation and development. The event provided an excellent platform for students to engage with experts and gain valuable insights into contemporary issues. Overall, it was a fitting tribute to the legacy of Ambassador Singh and his commitment to fostering peace and understanding across borders.
