Call for admission to M.Tech in Green Energy Technology programme under South Asia Foundation sponsorship to students from SAARC Countries

Nominations are invited from respective SAF Chapters of SAARC countries for the admission to M. Tech. Green Energy Technology programme at the Centre for Green Energy Technology, Pondicherry University, for the Academic Year 2019-20. Last date of receipt of nomination through SAF-India chapter is 7th June 2019.
About the University: Pondicherry University, accredited with “A” Grade by NAAC, secured 48th place in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) under University Category, is one of the most sought-after campuses amongst the students from across the nation as a destination for the Higher Education and Research. Eligibility criteria: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics, Chemical, Biotechnology or M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Nanoscience, Photonics with Mathematics at B.Sc level with at least 55% marks in the qualifying examinations. The equivalence of degree as per the eligibility criteria cab be ascertained from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Number of Fellowships: There are 8 fellowships available to SAARC country students, equally distributed among SAARC countries, including India. A maximum of two students from a SAARC country shall be admitted depending upon the vacancy position.
Selection Criteria: Country-wise preliminary selection and nomination should be completed by the respective SAF chapters based on the eligibility criteria, and keeping gender equality. Final selection from the nominated candidates will be done by the admission committee constituted at the Centre from Green Energy Technology, Pondicherry University.
Emoluments: Admitted students shall be given full course fee that include tuition free, registration fee, examination fee, University hostel accommodation charges, group medical insurance, and annual contingency grant of Rs. 5000/- to support study related expenses. Also, reimbursement of one time onward and return economy class, shortest route air travel expenses, subject to a maximum of Rs. 20,000/- shall be made and monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000/- towards living expenses shall be given.
