UMCSAJ Celebrated 25 Years of Excellence with a Star-Studded Convocation on World Press Freedom Day

Marking a significant milestone in Indian journalism education, the Asian College of Journalism (ACJ) celebrated its 25th anniversary with the Convocation of the Class of 2025 on Saturday, May 3, which also coincided with World Press Freedom Day. The event took place at the M.S. Subbulakshmi Auditorium on the ACJ campus in Chennai.

In a proud moment for the institution, veteran American journalist Norman Pearlstine graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Pearlstine brought with him decades of journalistic legacy, having held top editorial roles at The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Time Inc., Bloomberg L.P., and the Los Angeles Times.

Adding to the occasion's significance, the prestigious ACJ Journalism Awards for 2024  announced and presented, recognizing outstanding contributions and emerging talent in the field.

The convocation followed by a celebratory dinner get-together at 7:30 pm at the Binny Room, Hotel Taj Connemara, offering a relaxed evening for faculty, alumni, guests, and students to connect and commemorate this landmark moment in ACJ's journey.
