Former SAF Bangladesh Secretary Bachchu Shekh Begins PhD at CU Boulder

Mr. Bachchu Shekh, a PhD candidate in Advertising, Public Relations, and Design at the University of Colorado Boulder, brings a rich tapestry of experience to his doctoral studies. With a Master’s in Communication from Missouri State University, where he also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, Shekh now delves into research at the intersection of AI, strategic communication, and public relations.

Before pursuing his doctorate, Shekh accumulated nearly a decade of professional experience in Bangladesh—serving as a Public Relations Officer at the esteemed University of Asia Pacific and earning distinction as the youngest Secretary of the South Asia Foundation (SAF). In those roles, he promoted regional cooperation and peace across SAARC nations through education and cultural interaction. He also worked as a journalist for major English-language dailies, New Age and The Financial Express, showcasing his dual strengths in communications and media .

Shekh’s academic interests extend into the realms of AI, strategic communication, and PR. His scholarship has been recognized in major forums, with presentations at the National Communication Association (NCA), Central States Communication Association (CSCA), and Western States Communication Association (WSCA). During his master’s tenure, he also assumed leadership as Director of Communication for the Graduate Student Senate at Missouri State University
