Madame France Marquet, South Asia Foundation’s Representative to UNESCO and Principal Trustee of the Madanjeet Singh Foundation, attended the prestigious UNESCO Prize for Global Citizenship Education (GCED) – Inaugural Award Ceremony 2025 held on 9 December 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris.
The ceremony marked an important milestone in advancing the global discourse on inclusive, transformative, and peace-oriented education. Attended by diplomats, education leaders, global youth representatives, and members of the international development community, the event celebrated innovative initiatives that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to promoting global citizenship values.
The event honored two laureates selected from a global pool of 154 nominations representing 76 countries. Their pioneering work in advancing Global Citizenship Education further strengthens the objectives of the 2023 UNESCO Recommendation on Education for Peace, Human Rights, and Sustainable Development.
