On February 11, the second day of the ADA Awards Fourth Cycle, UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute for South Asian Arts (UMISAA), Beaconhouse National University (BNU) hosted a seminar at the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (MDSVAD) auditorium. Organized in partnership with the ADA Awards, and jointly by MDSVAD and the Razia Hassan School of Architecture (RHSA), the event was supported by BNU’s UNESCO Chair on Inclusion through Art under Prof. Rashid Rana. Bringing together creatives, academics, and industry leaders, the seminar embodied collaboration and inclusivity while offering students valuable insights through juror presentations and research.

A highlight of the day was the panel discussion Disruptors, Activists & Impact: “By Design”, featuring Salima Hashmi, Durre Shehwar, Ali Habib, and Imran Qureshi, moderated by Tazeen Hussain. The program also included a tour of the MA Art & Design Studies thesis show, showcasing the diverse work of 14 students. The seminar reinforced UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute for South Asian Arts (UMISAA), Beaconhouse National University BNU’s role as a hub for critical thought and creative innovation, underscoring the UNESCO Chair’s commitment to interdisciplinary dialogue and the transformative potential of design in education and practice.
