Madame France Marquet Attends 19th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2005 Convention at UNESCO

The 19th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, established under the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, is being held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from 17 to 20 February 2026. The session brings together representatives of member states, international organizations and cultural stakeholders to review implementation progress, adopt the workplan for 2026–2027, examine measures addressing cultural diversity in the digital environment, and discuss priorities such as preferential treatment for developing countries and collaboration with civil society.

Madame France Marquet, Representative of South Asia Foundation (SAF) to UNESCO, has been actively attending the 19th Session since 19 February 2026 at UNESCO Headquarters. Her presence at this significant international forum underscores SAF’s strong commitment to advancing global dialogue on cultural diversity, creativity, and inclusive cultural policies.
