A Tribute to the Visionary Legacy of UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Madanjeet Singh on His 102nd Birth Anniversary

On 16 April 2026, marking the 102nd Birth Anniversary of Late UNESCO Goodwill Amb. Madanjeet Singh—distinguished diplomat, visionary philanthropist, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, and founding architect of the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institutions of Excellence across SAARC nations—the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institute of Green Energy Technology (UMSGET), under the UNESCO Chair for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development at Pondicherry University, ceremonially inaugurated the National Level Competitive Exhibition on Sustainable Technologies (NLCEST–2026).Madanjeet-SIngh-NLCEST-2026-France-Marquet-Binjola

This significant occasion was conceived not merely as a commemorative event, but as a living tribute to Madanjeet Singh’s enduring vision of regional cooperation, educational excellence, peace-building, and sustainable development, ideals that continue to illuminate the path for institutions across South Asia.

NLCEST–2026 provided a distinguished national platform for scholars, researchers, innovators, and emerging leaders to present transformative ideas and pioneering technologies in domains central to humanity’s sustainable future, including:

A defining highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the First Prize Award by Madam France Marquet, Principal Trustee of the Madanjeet Singh Foundation and SAF Representative to UNESCO, whose gracious presence added distinction to the occasion and reaffirmed the Foundation’s continuing commitment to fostering excellence in education, sustainability, and international cooperation.
