ICEWSE 2026: Global Researchers Unite in Sri Lanka to Shape a Sustainable Water and Energy Future

International Conference on Energy and Water for a Sustainable Environment to spotlight innovative solutions for climate resilience, water security and clean energy

Moratuwa, Sri Lanka | September 2026:
The 2nd International Conference on Energy and Water for a Sustainable Environment (ICEWSE 2026) is set to bring together researchers, academics and experts at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, on 5–6 October 2026, fostering international dialogue and collaboration on some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Hosted by the UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Centre for South Asia Water Management (UMCSAWM), University of Moratuwa, and the UNESCO Madanjeet School of Green Energy Technology (UMSGET), Pondicherry University, India, the conference will focus on two interconnected pillars: Water Resources and Climate Resilience and Sustainable Energy Technologies.

Under the theme “Innovative and Integrated Solutions for Water Security and Environmental Sustainability,” the water-focused track will explore critical areas including surface-water hydrology, climate resilience, irrigation management, coastal and marine systems, groundwater, remote sensing, GIS and AI, resilient urban infrastructure, nature-based solutions and water governance.

The sustainable-energy track, themed “Integrated Clean-Energy Innovations for a Circular and Resilient Future,” will spotlight emerging developments in renewable energy, green hydrogen and fuel cells, energy storage, electric mobility, hydropower, carbon neutrality, green buildings, circular economy and AI-driven renewable-energy solutions.

The conference offers an important platform for exchanging pioneering research and building collaborative approaches toward a more climate-resilient, resource-efficient and sustainable future. Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings, while selected full papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of a Springer Nature journal.

With the abstract submission deadline extended to 14 September 2026, ICEWSE 2026 invites researchers and innovators to contribute their ideas and help advance integrated solutions for a sustainable environment.
