Director and CEO, National Institute of Plantation Management, Ministry of Plantation, Sri-Lanka
Dr. Prasad Dharmasena is an exemplary renowned character in vital subjects of Environmental Management, Soil Conservation, and Agroforestry & Plantation Management with brilliance expertise knowledge spanning over 19 years. He held supremacy positions of Head of Agroforestry & Sustainability attached to Hayleys Group of Talawakelle Tea Estates & Kelani Valley Plantations of Sri-Lanka prior to present advocacy. He was on the academic staff of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka in the capacity of Lecturer & Subject Coordinator in Environmental Management. In addition to his super grade accreditations, contributes immensely to state universities as a visiting lecturer in Environmental Conservation & Management. It should be placed on record that Dr. Dharmasena manifested preliminary experience in Plantation Management having worked in few Plantation Companies as Plantation Executive gaining wide experience in Agroforestry, Timber & Tea cultivation with the manufacture, too.
Dr. Dharmasena has completed his Ph.D. in Agroforestry and Regional Planning at the University of Kashmir under the SAF scholarship. He also has completed a Master of Science in Natural Recourses management at the Post Graduate of the Agriculture of the University of Peradeniya of Sri Lanka. Completed Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management from the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. He has actively collaborated intensively in Research & Development on facts finding along with research in Agroforestry & Environmental Management having extensively contributed towards Plantation Industry with subjugate Environmental Conservation, Biodiversity, Soil Conservation, Environmental Economics & Valuation. Dr. Dharmasena has given contributed to the University of Kashmir as a Research scholar from 2009 to 2012. He is also on the National Advisory Board of the Ministry of Education in Sri Lanka as Member. He is also a Charted Biologist and Fellow Member of Institute of Biology, Sri-Lanka and Member of Institute of Management of Sri-Lanka.
