Art, politics, and human rights converge in a groundbreaking new exhibition titled "WIR. 19 Grundrechte. 19 kunstlerische Positionen" (WE. 19 Fundamental Rights. 19 Artistic Positions), launching on May 22, 2025, at the Forum Kunst im Bundestag within the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus.
This extraordinary exhibition features 19 internationally renowned artists — including Tuli Mekondjo, Monica Bonvicini, Kubra Khademi, Ilit Azoulay, and Hans Haacke — who creatively interpret Germany’s 19 fundamental rights enshrined in its Basic Law. Their bold and diverse artistic perspectives offer a visual conversation on democracy, freedom, and shared responsibility.
The vivid red brushstroke of "WIR" (We) emblazoned across the poster underscores the theme of collective identity, participation, and solidarity. From sculptures and installations to photography and multimedia, each artist contributes a unique viewpoint in a shared space for reflection and dialogue.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until June 21, 2026, serving as a cultural catalyst within Germany's parliamentary heart.
