Madanjeet Singh Scholarships for the Academic Year 2026 at the College of Natural Resources, Royal University of Bhutan
The UNESCO Madanjeet Center for South Asia Forestry Studies (UMCSAFS) at College of Natural Resources (CNR), Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) in Lobesa, Punakha, Bhutan, is pleased to announce one candidate each for Madanjeet Singh scholarship from SAARC member countries for twoyears Masters Programme in Natural Resources Management (NRM) / Conservation Biology (CB) to be undertaken from July 2026 to June 2028.

Complete documents may be submitted to the Programme Leader, Dr. Yonten Dorji (Ydorji.cnr@rub.edu.bt), Phone: 77206524 for MSc in CB); Mr. Laxmi Sagar (sagar.cnr@rub.edu.bt), Phone: 17924508 for MSc in NRM) with a copy to Dean of Research and Industrial Linkage (dril.cnr@rub.edu.bt) and to the South Asia Foundation at bhutanoye@gmail.com.
Documents required to be submitted
The candidate applying for UMCSAFS scholarship program should submit the following documents to the respective SAF offices and CNR:
10. A copy of documents for the selected candidate shall be maintained at each SAF Country Office for record, assessment and acceptance into the programme.
11. All the accepted candidates should produce original documents at the time of admission at College of Natural Resources, Lobesa, Bhutan.

The Annual Governing Council Meeting of the South Asia Foundation (SAF) and Madanjeet Singh Foundation convened on November 27, 2025, Bandos, Maldvies. The meeting saw active Chairpersons from the Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka of South Asia Foundation chapters.
Speaking directly to the artists in attendance, Prof Hashmi challenged them to think deeply about the purpose of their work, “Every artist should ask themselves, 'Who is this for? Why am I doing this? Does it impact anyone’s life?' At that point, they create an audience for themselves."
