Since the 26 October 2010, Mme Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director-General announced that the 12 SAF Institutions of Excellence will be able to use UNESCO logo and named UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Institutions of Excellence.

Call for admission to M.Tech in Green Energy Technology programme under South Asia Foundation sponsorship to students from SAARC Countries 

Academic Year 2021-22

 Nominations are invited from respective SAF Chapters of SAARC countries for admission to M.Tech. Green Energy Technology programme at the Department of Green Energy Technology, Pondicherry University, for the Academic Year 2021-22.  Last date of receipt of nomination through SAF-India chapter is 20th AUGUST 2021(Friday).  You may nominate the candidates earliest to facilitate timely admission. Visa processing shall be as per the Govt. of India norms.

About the University: Pondicherry University, accredited with “A” Grade by NAAC, secured 48th place in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)  under Universities Category, is one of the most sought-after campuses amongst the students from across the nation as a destination for the Higher Education and Research. As per the Times World University Ranking Group, Pondicherry University is topping the list of Indian Universities on i) Gender Equality and ii) Climate Action.

Eligibility criteria: B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical or Biotechnology OR M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Nanoscience or Photonics with Mathematics at B.Sc. level with at least 55% marks in the qualifying examination. The equivalence of degree as per the eligibility criteria can be ascertained from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

 Number of Fellowships: There are SIXTEEN fellowships available to SAARC country students, equally distributed among SAARC countries, including India.

Selection Criteria: Country-wise preliminary selection and the nomination should be completed by the respective SAF chapters based on the eligibility criteria, and keeping gender equality. Final selection from the nominated candidates will be done by the admission committee constituted at the Department of Green Energy Technology, Pondicherry University.

Emoluments: Admitted students shall be given full course fee that includes tuition fee, registration fee, examination fee, University hostel accommodation charges, group medical insurance, and annual contingency grant of INR. 5,000/- to support study-related expenses. Also, reimbursement of one time onward and return economy class, shortest route air travel expenses, subject to a maximum of INR. 20,000/- shall be made, and a monthly stipend of INR.10,000/- towards living expense shall be given.       

Adherence: The academic program advertised here complies with the rules and regulations of Pondicherry University for the entire duration of the study. Due to Covid-19 pandemic issues admission and the classes will be conducted Online until Offline classes resume in the Pondicherry University campus.
